About the role

Start Up Greenwich Business Manager

Hours: 21 hours

Fixed Term Contract

Length of Contract: 6 months

Location: Woolwich Library (Start Up Greenwich Business Lounge)

Start Up Greenwich is a business support service delivered through Greenwich Libraries, which supports aspiring entrepreneurs, start ups and more established businesses to grow their businesses, and enhance their entrepreneurial skills and confidence through workshop, webinars, events, 121 advice sessions, etc.

The role is responsible for the day to day operation of the Start Up Greenwich service, including the delivery of workshops and events, 121 business advice/information sessions, marketing, responding to enquiries, processing invoices, budget management and reporting.

Role Overview

Delivery and production reports required by stakeholders such as the Royal Borough of Greenwich Council, The British Library BIPC etc

Oversee (and direct) the administrative tasks delivered by the Start Up Greenwich Administrative Assistant e.g. keeping the client list up to date and sending welcome emails to new members

Developing and implementing marketing and outreach campaigns to ensure that workshops and events are well attended.

Coordinating and delivering Start Up Greenwich workshops, networking events and 1:1 business information/advise sessions

Liaising with external stakeholders such as the Royal Borough of Greenwich Business team and the British Library BIPC etc

Liaising with the wider Greenwich Libraries librarians in the organisation of events, room bookings and general enquiries

Raise and process invoices for workshops/events and any catering services

Work with (and direct) the Start Up Greenwich Administrative assistant to produce social media posts, outreach campaigns, Eventbrites, writing newsletter stories etc. to promote Start Up Greenwich

Building connections with local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs, and be the central point of contact for all project activities and enquiries

Manage bookings to use the Start Up Greenwich Business Lounge

You will be supported by the Strategic Business Support manager and work closely with staff running the Start Up Bromley and Start Up Wandsworth business support services

What you need:

  • You'll be a self-starter and able to work autonomously to meet your local KPIs.
  • You'll be a great all-rounder and able to create and deliver marketing and social media content to attract people to a full programme of events you'll organise and host.
  • Good knowledge of excel and strong report writing will be key, as will excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • You should have a good working knowledge of stakeholder management in multi-partner programmes and be able to work with everyone from entrepreneurs to business partners and the general public.
